The wealthy Melrose family are turned on their well heeled axis when less than  a year after their beloved, charismatic and very wealthy, father’s death, Molly, their shy, loving sixty-year-old mother announces she is to marry again.

Her groom is a stranger to them, a gold digger they decide, but for Alice, the youngest of the three Melrose siblings,  estranged from their father when he died over her love affair with a man he disapproved of, alarm bells begin to ring.   Her mother is not given to plunging into love with someone she’s only known for five 2.  Or has she?
